When we first set up in business we didn't find it easy. We didn't have many clients, we didn't have our boundaries in place, we felt like we were putting in so much effort and yet still not achieving our goals.

When we took a step back to look at what we were doing we realised we needed to learn how to run a serious business. We had learned the basics, technical skills mostly, but we knew this was not enough if we wanted to be successful beauty business owners.

We found that we had many of the key skills already, using experience we already had from our previous careers, we just needed to dig deep and use them.

We needed to change our mindset, remove the negativity and see the potential in ourselves that is sometimes difficult to acknowledge. We changed how we felt on the inside which started to show on the outside too!

We also spent a lot of time working 'on' our businesses instead of 'in' them which gave us all the knowledge we needed. Then we just needed to take the steps required in a decisive, logical way.

We soon found that appointments were filling up, we were beginning to charge our worth and then...

We found each other!

Living just 5 minutes away from each other could have meant we saw each other as competition but we soon realised that by sharing the knowledge we each had, putting it together and giving each other support when we needed it meant we could both be even more successful than working alone.

Our husbands, friends and families are supportive, but they haven't experienced the beauty business first hand and just don't get it in the same way. We realised the value and strength of having a team around you and the massive benefits of having someone who totally gets it by your side.

We then knew we needed to share our knowledge and support. If we could show others in the industry the steps we took to get where we are now, anyone could have the same success. Our original team of two has now grown massively and the successes are incredible.
